Websites: A webmaster's guide

Logging and analysis is one of the crucial things you can do to make sure the effort you spend on your site is on the right bits! That and general administrator's tools can show up interesting results! Here are some links to utilities which will help:

First add your site to Google:

Use Google Webmasters Tools if you want to play with search engine related settings:

Don't forget it's important to use the Webmasters Tool to submit your site map.

Use Google Analytics for statistics and hit analysis:

Statcounter - I use this as well as Google Analytics for free site analysis, but Statcounter's only good if your hit rate's small - if you want to see full hit rate then you'll have to part with some of your beloved dosh:

Use Google Adwords to advertise your site:

Google Adsence to advertise on your site and earn pennies every time someone clicks on an advert on your site:

Use Local Business Center to add your business to Google maps:

You can also add Custom Search and configur your site's search engine:

Now use Google Alerts so you get emailed when your site gets added to Google search:
