Another one for the curiously minded!
I'm into experimenting with new stuff ;) and this one - Ghareh Ghooroot, you'll find mostly in Middle Eastern Iranian little supermarkets. It's mainly used for cooking to add a bit of tang, but good enough to eat as it is if you're looking for a kick! and good enough a replacement for lavashak (dried fruit) or even, for the more adventurous of us... citric acid (johaar limoo). I grew up on some of this stuff and I'm still alive, so don't knock it.
Don't ask me why they'd put the picture of a baby on the packaging though - there's no nutritional value to Ghareh Ghooroot.
For those who don't read Persian, Ghareh Ghooroot is made from "Cheese Juice Fermented" and concentrated, with sugar, flour and salt.
