Some update files are missing or have problems. We’ll try to download the update again later KB3116908 (KB 3116908)

So following update's now out for windows 10:

"Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3116908)"

But if you're getting the following error:

"Some update files are missing or have problems. We’ll try to download the update again later"

then try downloading the update directly from the updates catalogue here:
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3116908

See KB for more info:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3116908

Enjoy.

  1. I have the same problem as indicated above. Followed your instructions however when I click on the link for the Update it takes me to info on the update and when I choose update Method 2 and it takes me back to the Download Center. Tried it many times and it keeps repeating the process looping back to the Download Center. It the link working?

  2. Problem Fixed.

    Search for "Services"
Look for "BITS" Background Intelligence Transfer Services in the list
If not running then hit "Start"
Service should be "Running" and "Automatic (Delayed Start)
Check its properties as well: Should be as above and not on manual
    Try the Windows Update again.
    Worked for me.
