Vodafone definitely have a strange billing system.
If you've been travelling / roaming and see 07785016005 on your Vodafone bill with duration 00:00:00 or 00:00:01(which implies it's an sms text message), then worry no more:
Texts sent Internationally are charged in two parts, first there's the cost of sending the text from your phone to the service centre (07785016005) and then there's the cost of the text going from the service centre to the destination.
If you look on your bill then you'll find a matching 07785016005 entry somewhere else on the same bill for every text you've sent.
Hope that helps.

Now I know you’re on Vodafone but while you’re here please have a look at Giff Gaff as a spare SIM or even one to move on to. They use O2’s network, and if you use the link below then you get £5 free credit (and so would I). For the £10 a month you get:
- Unlimited mobile Internet for one month
- 250 UK minutes
- Unlimited UK texts
- Free giffgaff to giffgaff calls
Shame Vodafone don't tell you this!! The advisor I spoke to didn't have a clue. Thank God for the internet!
ReplyDeleteJust confirmed this anomaly with an advisor and requested that he pass along the message that this situation is not helpful to users who are trying to check the correctness of their statements! He said he would do so. I won't hold my breath!
